Red Angus 2017 World Angus Forum Team

The World Angus Forum 2017 will be held in Scotland and hosted by the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society.

The Red Angus Society of Australia has chosen to send a team of four juniors to take part in the Junior Program.

The following four junior members have been chosen to represent the Red Angus Society.

Lane Evans – Lane is from New South Wales and established his Red Angus stud, Nabiac to breed commercial bulls and replacement heifers in order to grow the size of his stud. He has been taking part in heifer shows since a young age which he believes has expanded his knowledge immensely.  Lane is looking forward to expand this knowledge further in Scotland and gaining a global insight into the cattle industry.

Blake Dawson – Blake is from Queensland and runs his own fitting service. One of his biggest achievements, thus far, was taking charge of 28 head for various Queensland studs at the 2016 EKKA. He has a long involvement with the Red Angus breed and has his own Dawson Red Angus stud. Blake is looking forward to promoting Australian Red Angus cattle in Scotland and new opportunities.

Aimee Bolton – Aimee is from Victoria and has had a lifetime involvement with the cattle industry. Together, with her sister Olivia, she runs Bolton Girls Red Angus Stud. Aimee has attended various heifer shows around Australia, as well as having the opportunity of being the Associate Judge at the Red Angus National Show and Sale. Aimee is looking forward to meeting like-minded people in Scotland.

Hannah Powe – Hannah is from New South Wales and is involved with her family’s Red Angus stud, Goondoola.  Hannah has attended heifer shows and exhibited at local, royal and heifer shows across the country. She is looking forward to the networking opportunities and well as pursuing her interests in international agriculture, genetics and export.

The quality of applications were of an extremely high standard and it seems the juniors of the Society are doing some great things within the industry.

We look forward to following the progress of this team.

The team will be holding some fundraising events to help them get to Scotland.
