Meet the Team:
Monty Lason from Clarkes Hill, Victoria, has developed a lifelong passion for the Australian beef industry. Growing up in a family involved in the seedstock business, Monty was immersed in the world of cattle breeding from a young age. The family’s focus on breeding registered Angus, Red Angus, Charolais, and Stabilizer genetics laid the foundation for his deep knowledge of cattle breeding and genetics.
From an early age, Monty took an active role on the farm, learning the intricacies of breeding and selection, bull and sire selection, and the analysis of BREEDPLAN data. His particular interest has always been with the Red Angus breed, known for their gentle nature and ease of management.
Monty has been involved in breeding some exceptional Red Angus bulls that have not only sold across Australia but also gained recognition overseas.
With a wealth of experience in cattle breeding, Angus and Red Angus pedigrees, BREEDPLAN, TACE, genomics, herd management, and handling, Monty Lason has built a reputation for his expertise and dedication to advancing the Red Angus breed. His ongoing work continues to influence the industry, and his knowledge and experience remain integral to his family’s breeding operation.
‘By participating in the World Angus Forum Youth competitions and forum I aim to broaden my understanding the beef industry, learn, be challenged, and network with like-minded youth teams from around the world.’
