Must be Reds Sale at NVLX February 10th

Vendors were evenly split between N.S.W and Victoria.

The quality and presentation was a credit to our breed.

There was a marked increase in buyer interest both before and at the sale compared to last year.

Seven bulls averaged $6271

Notable sales were:

Top price of $10800 to Christy Fuller Diamond Angus   The bull weighed 895 kg. at 17 months. (photo attached)

The Bolton family sold two bulls $6800 and $9000.

Well known Vic. Nth. East Red Angus breeder Don Hempel sold his bull for $5000 at only 12 months of age and also bought the top priced bull.

Cross bred cows with calves from Wyeromp PTY LTD to $3000

Older commercial cows with calves from Redgums Red Angus made $3600

A standout pen of 6 PTIC heifers from Yuroke Red Angus sold to hot competition for $3800

Four bulls passed in made close to their reserve and were assessed by Corcoran Parker after the sale and will sell on Auctions Plus next Friday 18 February.

The cattle sold to central and northeast Victoria and the Riverina.

Vendors and some buyers enjoyed a light lunch and chat after the sale in the boardroom at NVLX.

Enormous thanks must go to Jacko Meehan and the team at Corcoran Parker

Thanks to Ali at Stocklive for the terrific social media promotion.  Stocklive reported 20 new buyer registrations for the MUST BE REDS sale.

The sale continues next year with its mission to provide an exchange for Red Angus in Southern Australia including HB registered, pure bred and crossbred Red Angus.      Agents have noted an intention from current and potential vendors for large numbers of females at next year’s sale.  Many thanks to those providing encouragement and advice.

Yours in Red Angus

Cliff Downey
