Power of Red II Sale Report

The 2nd annual Power of Red was held on the 17th of September at the Headingly Sale Complex, Pilton, Queensland.

The ten vendors were very happy with the 100% clearance and the support they received from buyers and underbidders alike.

*23 Red Angus bulls sold to a top of $16,000 for an average of $6652

*2 Cow calf/ units sold to a top of $10,000 to average $7500.

*13 Heifers sold to a top of $4000 to average $2980.

*8 Semen lots sold to a top of $500/straw and averaged $258 /straw

*12 Embryo lots sold to a top of $1200/embryo and averaged $640/embryo

*Top price bull was Lot 6, GK Red Kulcha Shoc K23 the current Brisbane Grand Champion Red Angus bull who sold for $16,000 to Michael and Kay O’Neill of Cinnabar Qld. Kulcha Shoc will be the base sire in a grading up program to produce a herd of natural polled Blonde Aquitane’s. Kulcha Shoc was sired by the 2014 U.S National Champion bull Red Lazy MC Trooper 21Y.

*Top Priced Female was Lot 34, GK Red Dina 26 J19 at $10,000 who was purchased by new Red Angus member Andrew Youngberry T/A Country Heritage Trust of Pittsworth . This two year old daughter of Red Fine Line Mulberry sold with her 450 kg December bull calf at side sired by Andras New Direction R240.

*The top priced semen lot was a package of Red Fine Line Mulberry 26P which sold for $500/unit to Ben Fraser, BJ’s Stud Cattle, Victoria.  All three of these top selling lots were offered by Gavin and Kirrily Iseppi, GK Livestock, Dalby Qld.

*Top priced embryo lot was a package of embryos offered by the Greenwood Family T/A GWF Investments. This lot was purchased by Heather Davies, Rosemullion Red Angus Goomburra Qld at $1200/embryo. The embryos were sired by Red Northline Chuck Norris and were out of Trevone Park Trix E24.

Six bulls sold for the second top price of $9000 which included:

*Boonyouin Kapital K9 & Boonyouin Kennedy K69 both bought by Wonga Hills   Pastoral Company, Chinchilla

* Boonyouin Karnage K3 purchased by EJ Nolan , Moonie Q

The above three bulls were all offered by sale committee member Maryanne Kearney of Kingaroy, Qld.

*Rosemullion Red Kyle K4 purchased by the Youngberry Family and offered by Heather Davies, Goomburra Q

*Rosey’s Grand Slam sold account The Rose Family, Barambah Qld selling to Elders, Springsure

*GWP Larry L9 offered by GK Livestock Dalby and purchased by The Alibel Trust, Tambo Qld
